The Arctic tern.
The arctic tern is one of the most interesting birds in Iceland. Legend has it it is known to be amongst the only few birds, if not the only bird, which can fly across the known world. It is known for its mastery of flight and arrives in Iceland and stays in the country from may / june to august.
